Fall Inspiration III ~ "Fall"ing in Love

Is a traditional Autumn wedding what you're going for...then look no more! Keeping with the classic orange, brown and maroon colors for your wedding hues can create a BOLD statement making one of the most loved seasons a time to "Fall" in love! That's exactly what we wanted to accomplish with our "Fall"ing in Love wedding invitation. As Summer quickly fades away and Autumn creeps in, we happily welcome the change of seasons. Let's look at how we can combined the old season with the new creating a wedding that is right smack dab in the middle of the two seasons.

Pair your favorite solstice items like paper lanterns, short halter dresses and cake pops with your adored harvest colors and you will have a wedding your guest will be talking about 'til next summer.  See how a short dress in a cocoa color along with vivid Autumn colored bouquets can make your wedding party scream fall. Love those cake pops?!?! Why not take it to the next level and make pumpkin cake pops, what a great substitution for a traditional wedding cake!

Combine all these great ideas with our "Fall"ing in love wedding set. This set includes a triple layered invitation, printed on cream card stock and layered with copper and bronze shimmer card stocks. The full colored ink wording compliments the cute little falling leaf tree on top. We also created their save the dates magnets with a leaf print, in golden autumn colors, matching shimmer card stock programs and place cards with different color maple leaf brads and long menus printed on natural card stock. Give your guest a little kraft box of goodies keeping with your fall theme and using a matching tree tag; for more of a rustic feel have Hershey Kisses in burlap bags.

Fall Inspiration II - Shoreline

Fall weddings aren't always meant to be inside, or ALL orange! How about hues of tans and blues saving chocolate and orange for the accents? Dare we say beach wedding too? The votes have come in and it looks like beach inspired Fall weddings are soooo in!!! Look how our beautiful weddng invitation ties in perfectly to a simply gorgeous, but not so Fally, Fall inspired wedding.

Let's start out with a fun and flirty wedding dress by Moniqe Lhuillier, which is accented by his dark grey suit, the perfect light blue striped tie and a dogwood willow boutonniere; finally, the gorgeous bouquet filled with blue and orange mums and berries.

For this Autumn inspired beach wedding, we pulled together the elements and colors of both themes
and call it "Shoreline".

We printed on a bright white cardstock and added sand to the very bottom. We backed this beach invitation with a chocolate brown weave cardstock to add a darker Fall color and overall richness to the invitation. And for the icing on the cake, or ehhh invitation, we added a beautiful light blue handmade paper to the very top and back of this invitation. This blue handmade paper is extremely porous (holey) which allows the colors of the invitation to be seen through the paper keeping it light and airy. The entire invitation is pulled together with a chocolate brown wraffia tie on the very top of the card.

Fall Wedding Inspirations 1 - The Sunflower

It's almost that time of year that some of us simply yearn for - not sure what season we're talking about? Need a hint? How about pumpkin lattes, apple cider, jeans with a hoodie, falling leaves...need we say more FALL, of course!!! As we are more than excited to enter into the next season (and for some of us the best season)...not only because of the much needed Starbuck's Pumpkin latte, there are sooo many other exciting attributes of Autumn. And before we get into it - did we mention daylight savings time - A WHOLE EXTRA HOUR OF SLEEP...HALLELUJAH!!! NOW, we have come to the much anticipated point, not only is Fall a feel good season it's also wedding season.

When planning a Fall wedding your options are virtually unlimited; there are so many different and fun color combos and exciting themes to chose from, it might actually be difficult narrowing it down to one! Well, well, no need to worry we'll have plenty of future blogs showing different invitation ideas and great ways to coordinate it all. With that said we are excited to display our first Fall Wedding inspiration board. Check out below how we've matched our past custom wedding invitations to some of the following Fall Wedding inspirations: including the obvious sunflowers, bridesmaid dresses, a wedding cake tiered with pumpkin flavored cupcakes and a rustic hand written chalkboard sign, inviting your guests to the ceremony.

"The Sunflower"

"The Sunflower" invitation was printed on a bright white cardstock and bordered with a brown shimmer card and completed with a woven cardstock in a papaya color. A postcard was made with the matching sunflower image. This custom wedding invitation can be changed to match your colors or theme, please contact us for more information:

Picking your papers for your wedding invitations!

Not many couples realize upon meeting us how extensive we really get with papers and the overall design process. We have a huge passion dedicated towards finding the most unique papers and fun cardstocks for EVERY ONE'S palate. So sit back and relax while we take you for a stroll down Paper Lane.

SMOOTH CARDSTOCK
Cardstocks come in various colors, textures and weights. Let's start with smooth cardstocks - there are millions!!! It's the perfect paper to print on, in most cases, and we have a spectrum of colors to choose from, no really - we do!

TEXTURED CARDSTOCK
Then, we have the textured family of cardstock. These cardstocks have, well, texture:) We have linen cardstocks, laid cardstocks, weave cardstocks, column cardstocks, felt cardstock and much more. Depending upon which paper you choose, the textures shown will be lines, or some sort of a grid pattern pressed into the paper. When adding a cardstock with a texture to your wedding invitations, or an other special event invitation, it adds a bit of class, dimension and overall intrigue to the design.

EMBOSSED PAPER
"Embossed" paper has a raised feature created by pressing or hammering a design onto its back. These papers may have a specific pattern like flowers, shells, circles, waves, etc.

VELLUM
Next we will move on to the translucents, or vellum paper. These papers are thin and for the most part clear, rendering it perfect as an overlay for your wedding invitation wording. Some couples choose to have the vellum paper lay atop their invitation with a small verse, or poem, or even their monogram printed. Like our other cardstocks and papers, vellums too come in various colors and levels of transparency. Some vellums also have specks, inclusions, columns and cloudy effects, which in turn could very well entice you to have your invitation printed right onto the vellum!

SHIMMER CARDSTOCK
Our most popular cardstocks would have to be the shimmer line. The range and production of colors that are now manufactured in the shimmer cardstock line is constantly growing. And shimmer papers aren't just for you fancy folks anymore! Just like that hot pair of Citizen's jeans you can rock out with stilettos or chillax with some flip flops - these beautiful, rich, shimmery, metallic-like papers can compliment just about any wedding theme or style.

RECYCLED CARDSTOCK
Another up and coming cardstock are those that are recycled. Nowadays, more and more brides are becoming earth friendly and earth conscious, but earth chique - WHO KNEW? Yes friends, it can be done. While the color options are still growing, there are plenty to choose from. Many recycled cardstocks have alluring specks and inclusions that add to the overall beauty of this paper. All varieties of earth friendly cardstocks are labeled by the amount recycled or reused, and our recycled wedding invitations have endless possibilities when it comes to design.

HANDMADE PAPER
Moving on....we have handmade papers - need we say more?! Okay, we have to say more, 'cause there's soooo much to say. There are mulberry papers, saa papers, silk papers, papyrus, loktas, lace papers and the list goes on. Some handmade papers come filled with bark, sea grass, silk threads, bamboo, tissues and, once again - the list goes on!!!! Handmade papers, too, have come such a long way when it comes to wedding invitation designs. We have found unique ways to include handmade paper into customizing wedding invitations from adding a small hand torn piece, to using it as a canvas to build an invitation on and even to being a multi-purpose card holder and pocket fold.

TEXTURED FLORAL HANDMADE PAPER
Add some texture to your invitation with these raised velvet floral prints. This paper is a cotton based handmade paper with a raised velvet-like textured floral print.
Perfect for a splash of character or used as a wrap.

As you can see WE DON'T MESS AROUND...when it comes to paper:) Please contact us to set up your free consultation where together, we can create an invitation like no other!!!
