Finter Inspiration Board II ~ Tiffany's on the Beach

Soooo excited about another Finter inspiration. In case you're not in "the know" of Finter...it is our newly named season combining two wonderfully now seasons: Fall and Winter. We have matched up one of our extremely popular wedding invitations, Tiffany's on the Beach, which is where our inspiration was derived. We have had so many couples recently expressing interest in this formerly known as a "summer wedding invitation", for the Fall & Winter months that we were thrilled to include our "Tiffany's on the Beach" wedding invitation into this inspiration board...here is what it entails:

The wedding invitation is printed on a bright white card with sand on the corner of the card; it is bordered with a rich black card stock, and bordered, once again with a tiffany colored shimmer card stock. This set includes a single panel reply card and a dinner and dancing information card. The entire set, or (stackable invitation) as we like to call it, is wrapped in a smooth black satin ribbon and a matching tag displaying the couple's monogram and wedding date. We paired this Fall invitation (and Winter invitation) okay, okay, okay...FINTER invitation with this beautiful slight sweetheart neck wedding dress, a 3 tiered white wedding cake with clean modern lines and delicate flowers and of course stillllllllllettos - gooooooorrrrrrrrgeous!!!!

Finter Inspiration Board I~ The Nautical

As the days become cooler and the trees more bare, we are entering a somewhat transitional season. The climate is drastically changing and winter is right around the corner. And while it's still Fall and we are welcoming the frosty mornings, we are still enjoying the park with the kids as the sun heats up the afternoon hours. With this beautiful, yet perplexing time of year, we have decided to add a Season to our former four and have named him FINTER. (Go ahead and guess how we figured that one out:)  Now, Finter is a WONDERFUL time to plan a wedding - there is just sooooo much you can do!!! Follow our inspiration board below and see how we've combined Autumn inspired weddings and Winter inspired weddings to match our beautiful custom designed wedding invitation with other wedding pieces in this wonderful transition season.

Shown below is "The Nautical" wedding invitation set. The invitation is printed on an ivory linen card and bordered with an ivory shimmer paper. This bordered square invitation is attached to a custom designed blue linen pocketfold. The information cards were also printed on ivory linen cards and placed in the pocket. When closed this pocketfold invitation is wrapped with an ivory grosgrain ribbon. We printed a nautical knot on a tag and attached it to the ribbon to complete this navy pocketfold invitation set. While we are in Finter, you can always accessorize your gorgeous wedding dress with a coat and scarf and matching yellow gold rings. And we're pretty sure the ring bearer won't forget a pillow as beautiful as the burlap one shown below.

Fall Weddings Ideas

Autumn is by far one of the best seasons to get married. The blistering summer heat has come to a screaching hault and comfortable, cooler nights creep in. And we can't continue without mentioning the ghosts and goblins....booo ah ah ah!!! But on a less scary note, Autumn is a wonderful season to get married especially when using many of the key elements of the season in conjunction with your wedding.

LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION

Barn

What is more rustic than a beautifully decorated barn? More and more couples are seeking an outdoor wedding without having to use the traditional white outdoor tent. Mixing vintage with chic and you will soon see a fairy tale unfold in front of your eyes. With some strings of lights and some primitive table decor, your guests will be blown away with how an nontraditional wedding venue can be so intimate.

Garden or Pasture

Have access to a botanical garden, or a family member with ample land ready for the taking? Turn any open field into your ceremony setting. Imagine mountain tops or rolling hills of green grass as your back drop. Mums are a beautiful choice for an in season Fall flower. Use mums to add a pop of color and create your wedding aisle (as shown in the picture below). Check out local wineries in your area for a lovely outside venue with a rustic feel. And who says you can't get married on the beach in the Fall? Make an aisle in the sand with those cute paper bag lanterns and pair them up with mini pumpkins and you have a match made in harvest heaven!

TIMING IS EVERYTHING

Spring forward and Fall backwards. The sun starts setting earlier and earlier into the Fall months so don't forget day light savings time when planning your ceremony time and pictures. Are you geographically lucky enough to be located where the leaves change into an assortment of colors, can we say BACKDROP??!!  However, make sure to check when they may begin to fall (no pun intended:) You don't want a back drop of bare trees - EEEEEEKKKKK!!!

Want a fun bold theme?!?! If you are getting married the weekend prior, or perhaps right after Halloween go for the Halloween themed wedding. Pumpkins, corn mazes and costumes can make  this single, and obviously special night, FUN for all your guests. If you don't want to do it for your wedding, have a Halloween themed rehearsal dinner. Let your wedding party dress up and loosen up before the big day.

GO LOCAL

Pumpkins, sunflowers, gourds, corn stalks, hay bales, apples...and the list could go on!!!! Check locally for these great Fall attributes to include in your wedding. White pumpkin centerpieces, apple cider cocktails and sunflower bouquets are just a few ideas. Ask your vendors for what foods are in season to include in your menu. Don't forget the cute menu cards describing your fall inspired cuisine.

BE FLEXIBLE

It's understandable that everyone wants their dream wedding, including the perfect flowers and food, but when it comes down to saving Benjamin's, I think we're all in agreement that some areas we can be flexible. Talk with your florist, vendors and photographer on what deals they may be able to offer with in-season items.

The perfect beach wedding card box

Picture this... you're having a Seaside Wedding; dress is ready, reception is booked, your perfect beach influenced invitations are sent out. As the date comes closer, you begin to finalize your reception details. You start to think about the little details like the gift box, also known as the card box. You know, the box you usually see at past attended weddings made from cardboard and wrapped with wedding gift wrap where all of the guests insert their cards. Now that doesn't sound beach influenced at all! For the following wedding, we needed to create something beach-like for our bride and groom, Helen & EJ's Seaside Wedding.

There are numerous things that can be used for a card box that doesn't necessarily need to be an actual box, and for us, it was time to think outside the box:) Their colors were navy blue and hot pink and she wanted something beach-like to flow with their wedding theme. After some research we decided on a crate. A wooden crate with a clasp-able lid that, with a little finess, would be turned into a one of a kind card box. We painted the crate navy blue, creating a bold and definitely recognizable gift box which if it could talk it would say, "CARDS HERE, PLEASE". Next we filled the slots in the crate with decorative fish netting and decorated it with seashells. We used the same fonts used on their matching wedding invitations and printed their "H&E" monogram, which has been a staple design throughout this process, and presto a card crate is created.

Fall Inspiration Board IV ~ The Harvest

Most of us capable of reading this blog will agree with the fact that back in the day many colors combinations were just not allowed and almost frowned upon. How about the legendary, don't mix black with brown? Yes, this was a passion filled fashion ewwww and quite the unconceivable fusion of colors. Well, combining the oh so uncombineable and oh so saturated black and brown black colors was nothing short of exhilerating! Sorry if we get so excited by the small things, but come on people, we all know this was a major " NO, NO" back in the day. Well good riddens to old thoughts and helllooooo to an open minded untraditional world of new and modern design. Can we say Fall elegance?
Walking down the aisle in the Jim Hjelm beauty will leave your guests breathless, until it's time for cake that is:) The simple yet, artfilled wedding cake design of Fall tree branches cascading down the tree is in a class of it's own. And don't forgot the purrrrty nails to finish off this classy look.

Now for what we've all been waiting for the invitation that breaks all the rules...description please:
Our chic, yet rustic, Autumn wedding invitation, The Harvest, was printed on a chocolate brown cardstock (paying special attention to the formatting of the wording). We bordered this invitation with a strong black card, only showing the border on the top and bottom of the invitation. We finished this Fall invitation by wrapping a hemp rope around  the mid section of the invitation.
