Featured Couple: Lori & Dan Dobronz

Lori & Daniel Dobronz
July 23rd 2010
The Edge at Fagers Island
Ocean City, Maryland

Theme: Seascape Beach Wedding
Colors: Black, ivory and pale pink
Location: The Edge at Fagers Island, Ocean City, MD

When we met with Lori she went straight to the point. At first she was considering not having an invitation for their wedding. Their wedding ceremony and reception was going to be very small and intimate. Only dearest family members and closest friends were attending this Bayside beach theme wedding. She changed her mind and came to us wanting only a hand full of invitations and something for her to represent her big day and hold on to as keepsake. Her color choices were black and ivory, but she also wanted to convey that seascape beach feeling. After doing some thinking we found that extra something to add to their wedding invitation.

Her beautiful daughter was going to be wearing a light pink dress so we decided to incorporate that color into the invitation, adding that necessary extra touch.

Using black and ivory shimmer card stocks as the layers we topped it with a light pink vellum overlay, giving this square invitation a pretty little bit of bliss. To tie everything together on this square layered invitation we did just that - added a raffia tie. We tied a natural colored raffia bow on the top of the invite uniting the three layers together. We carried on the same style, minus the vellum, for the reply card.

This beautiful pink and black wedding invitation set is for sale in our Etsy Shop below:

Beach Theme Wedding Seating Board - Starfish

Want an alternative to the place card for your wedding reception? How about a seating board?!? Check out our new seating board that compliments our Starfish Wedding Invitations. We started with a tan board and created a top banner showcasing the bride and groom's names, united (Mr. & Mrs.) along with their wedding date.

This particular board was designed to match our Starfish Wedding Invitation. We used the same starfish image that was on their beach themed invitation and applied it to each table card as well as the upper banner. The layers of card stock and color of the board also mimic their invitation. As the finishing touch we added real white finger starfish. When choosing a seating board instead of an individual place card, all of the guests who will be joined at each table will be printed on one card under the table accordingly. We love to customize these seating boards!!! Let us match your wedding colors and themes with our fine card stocks and accessories.

Want to have even more fun with your tables - instead of using table numbers (1,2,3...) try utilizing words included in your theme, or maybe something else important to you. Since this couple was getting married on the beautiful white sandy beach of St. Petersburg, Florida, we've named each table after a beach found in the sunshine state.

Reply Postcards: What's the Hype?

When ordering wedding invitations, a great alternative to sending the traditional reply card with envelope is sending a reply postcard. Soooo let's begin by thinking about the logistics behind it..first, the most obvious being less postage. Less postage = less $$$$ Believe us - it adds up! Ultimately, without needing an extra mailing envelope, this could also mean less postage on your invitation envelope, which once again means less money:) And to our fellow tree hugging friends - doing away with the envelope is not only budget friendly, but earth friendly too.

While opting for a reply post card is not the traditional approach to a wedding invitation set, it is becoming more and more popular with our contemporary brides. And just because your response card has been magically transformed into a post card, it doesn't mean the same crucial information won't be included. With all of that said, we always love to mention the customizing part...as with any of our invitation sets and information cards - reply post cards can be superfun to customize!!! Think about it this way; it's a double sided reply card which means more area to play with and design.

Check out our reply post cards below and notice how any theme or color scheme can be fused into your style.

No matter what your theme is we can create a reply post card to match your invitation. Whether you'd like to see an image, a color, or a "green" wedding concept, we can do it! What says "beach" besides sand?? How about waves! Living at the beach, we have many couples who embrace the idea of having a beach theme wedding. Obviously, every ones's taste and style will differ and that's why we love what we do. See how easily we were able to customize the same reply post card format to suit their individual weddings.

With a change of color, font and wording these reply post cards...

were transformed to fit into each couple's style.

Notice this reply post card mimics the same format and style from invite.

We kept with the contemporary and funky format, but don't let your eyes fool you - this brown reply post card is really green (eco-friendly green we mean:)
For purchase in our Etsy Shop below:

...another green wedding - GOTTA LOVE IT!!!

For this particular couple we used a taupe colored 100% recycled cardstock for the wedding invitation and the reply post card. Upon researching earth friendly weddings and recyclable materials we were excited to include 100% recycled wraffia wrap to attach a small swatch of plantable paper to the invitation too!

Any color, any style...need we say more? This beautiful shimmer blue reply card is a lovely compliment to the radiant green shimmer wedding invitation - Colors of the Hydrangea.

1940's Old Hollywood theme? No problem!

We added a ribbon across the back of the invitation to hold all the enclosure cards including this sleek ivory shimmer reply post card which is a great alternative to the pocket fold invitation and slighltly more cost effective.

Featured Couple: Jessica & Shawn Waters

Jessica & Shawn Waters
April 24th 2010
The Mills House
Charleston, South Carolina

Theme: Spring, Spring, Spring
Colors: Pale Yellow and Spring Green
Location: The Mills House

Upon meeting Jessie and Shawn, we quickly were enlightened on their unique wedding. They were to be married in one of their favorite destinations, Charleston, South Carolina. The location they decided on, The Mills House, was as quaint as the town, which was exactly the intimate feel the couple was seeking. Because of the light rain that day their ceremony was moved inside the Mills House into a beautiful ballroom lined with white chairs. The rain did let up for them to enjoy some pictures outside. Cobblestone streets and large storybook like trees added to the canvas of this southern wedding.

With their wedding colors being spring green and shades of yellow we pulled together some colors and textures to create this "southern belle" invitation.

This is what was included in this custom invitation set:

The invitation was printed on a light green laid cardstock and bordered with two different cardstocks, one white and the other yellow. A light yellow sheer ribbon is pulled through the back of their invitation and was showcased on either side of their monogram. This multi layer invitation was then attached to a custom designed white pocketfold. We made this custom pocket fold invitation by creating a pocket using silver brads on the back side of the invitation. The green reply card was printed on the same light green laid cardstock. We also designed an information booklet printing multiple pages of the wedding scoop which is tied together (no pun intended) with their matching colors in the book binding. *Having a "booklet" is a great way to include all of the essential info (directions, hotel accommodations, etc.) while leaving you room to get personal and describe travel details and location highlights of the chosen area.

Before the invitation was the Save the Date.
With this said, their destination wedding location could only accommodate a small number of guests. This gave the couple a great idea...**2 receptions! One reception in Charleston, at the site of their wedding, and a second on a later date, in their home town Ocean City, Maryland. To notify the guests of this double reception we made the couple a save the date for the second reception that mimicked their original save the date, just printing different wording.

**Check back for our future blog containing tips on how to have a
wedding with two reception sites.
