Featured Couple: Jessica & Shawn Waters

Jessica & Shawn Waters
April 24th 2010
The Mills House
Charleston, South Carolina

Theme: Spring, Spring, Spring
Colors: Pale Yellow and Spring Green
Location: The Mills House

Upon meeting Jessie and Shawn, we quickly were enlightened on their unique wedding. They were to be married in one of their favorite destinations, Charleston, South Carolina. The location they decided on, The Mills House, was as quaint as the town, which was exactly the intimate feel the couple was seeking. Because of the light rain that day their ceremony was moved inside the Mills House into a beautiful ballroom lined with white chairs. The rain did let up for them to enjoy some pictures outside. Cobblestone streets and large storybook like trees added to the canvas of this southern wedding.

With their wedding colors being spring green and shades of yellow we pulled together some colors and textures to create this "southern belle" invitation.

This is what was included in this custom invitation set:

The invitation was printed on a light green laid cardstock and bordered with two different cardstocks, one white and the other yellow. A light yellow sheer ribbon is pulled through the back of their invitation and was showcased on either side of their monogram. This multi layer invitation was then attached to a custom designed white pocketfold. We made this custom pocket fold invitation by creating a pocket using silver brads on the back side of the invitation. The green reply card was printed on the same light green laid cardstock. We also designed an information booklet printing multiple pages of the wedding scoop which is tied together (no pun intended) with their matching colors in the book binding. *Having a "booklet" is a great way to include all of the essential info (directions, hotel accommodations, etc.) while leaving you room to get personal and describe travel details and location highlights of the chosen area.

Before the invitation was the Save the Date.
With this said, their destination wedding location could only accommodate a small number of guests. This gave the couple a great idea...**2 receptions! One reception in Charleston, at the site of their wedding, and a second on a later date, in their home town Ocean City, Maryland. To notify the guests of this double reception we made the couple a save the date for the second reception that mimicked their original save the date, just printing different wording.

wedding with two reception sites.
